INT. TRUCK - DAY
Tom driving southbound Highway 287 south of Laramie, Wyoming, through wide open ranch and farm grasslands, hills in the distance, and a freight train catching up on the Union Pacific tracks that parallel the the road on the passenger side.
The train passes and continues ahead of him, finally out of view, at which point Tom turns on the RADIO TO THE OPENING OF GLEN CAMPBELL'S SONG, GALVESTON. He smiles, turns up the volume. A beat after "when I left Galveston" he TURNS OFF RADIO at the FAINT SIREN of the HIGHWAY PATROL SEDAN in the rearview mirror, lights flashing and coming up behind him fast. Tom slows and pulls to the shoulder, watches the sedan flash by in the left lane and zoom away.
Tom pulls back onto the road, watches the sedan disappear over a rise.
